Mobility is an extremely important initiative during a PhD.

All mobility periods must be uploaded to the portal to ensure the 50% monthly grant increase: Portale della Didattica, Cruscotto del Dottorato, “Attività fuorisede”

Mobility “Bando Unico” includes support for PhD Students visiting international universities: “Mobilità per studio – PhD”

Main constraints:

  • Applicants must be regularly enrolled in the current academic year.
  • The mobility period must last between 2 and 12 months and take place between June of the current year and July of the next year.

How the mobility works:

  • The PhD student will carry out research activities at the host university.
  • PhD students are not required to attend courses, unlike BSc and MSc students.
  • The grant is paid in two instalments: the first within the first two months of mobility, and the second at the end of the period, once all required documentation has been submitted. The amount depends on the destination country.

Required documentation at the time of application:

  • A nulla osta signed by the Coordinator of the PhD School (Prof. Lamberti).
  • A Learning Agreement also signed by the host institution, including mobility details (destination, dates) and proposed mobility activity. This document is important as a sign of commitment of the destination.
  • Both documents have to be delivered before the deadline via a ticket by choosing topic “MOBILITÀ VERSO L'ESTERO - PAESI EXTRA-UE”, subtopic “Candidatura”, and by choosing as ticket subject: “CANDIDATURA PHD ERASMUS+/PARTNER COUNTRIES”.

Selection process:

Each candidate receives a score based on:

  • PhD seniority (max 3 points, 1 point per year since enrollment).
  • Publications (max 2 points, as calculated by SCUDO).
  • External activities (max 5 points, as calculated by SCUDO).

Full details are available at the official link.

Destinations:

  • EU countries: students may propose any destination. The grant can be assigned only once (and if) an agreement between institutions is signed before the start of mobility.
  • Non-EU countries: available destinations are listed at the link provided in the call.

How to ask questions:

  • Via ticketing, or asking the advisor to contact mobilita.outgoing@polito.it
