Departmental Virtualization System
The Departmental Virtualization System manages the life cycle of virtual machines. It is made of a virtualization cluster, based on oVirt, a community-based version of the Red Hat RHEV, a virtualization platorm, conceptually similar to the VMware vSphere.
The service is aimed at DAUIN permanent staff and offers technical staff, teaching staff, researchers, research fellows and Phd students the possibility to create and use a VM within the system, for projects which requires constantly active and accessible services.
The system is managed by the Staff del LABINF who is in charge of the cluster and gives technical support for the correct use of the system.
