Request to launch a competition announcement
To request the launch of a selection procedure for awarding Research fellowships, please:
- Access the application at MyPoli – Il mio Centro/Dipartimento/Servizio – Richiesta Assegnisti;
- Please refer to the Manuale utente per la richiesta di assegni di ricerca (User Manual for requesting a Research Fellowship) and to the Policy per la copertura del costo degli assegni di ricerca, (Policy for covering the cost of Research fellowships), approved by the Board of Governors on the 26.01.2021 meeting.
Research fellowships will exclusively be activated or renewed when financially covered by: external fundings derived by conventions; institutional/commercial contracts or research projects with public or private bodies; income generated by certified research projects, including third-parties contracts, collected and available in the University financial statement (so-called RIB).
The following Research fellowships will not be activated or renewed: fellowships covered by University fundings (including equity resources), except for Research fellowships authorized further to motivated proposals. Particular attention will be dedicated to some technical and scientific fields which, for their peculiarity and scientific specificities, do not attract external fundings.
In case of several funding sources, before finalizing the procedure we recommend to contact the Accounting office at dauin.contabilita@polito.it for the proper identification of the projects, periods and percentages of funding allocations.
All the funding modifications requests made after the fellowship request is complete will have to be submitted to dauin.pers@polito.it.
Modifications may be accepted by the General Secretary only for outstanding payments and not for those already processed
Service Start
Once the selection procedure is completed, the Scientific Representative must inform dauin.logistica@polito.it about the workstation the Researcher will occupy. On the service starting actual date (day 1 or 16 of the Month), the Scientific Representative will sign, upon request from the Ufficio Direzione PEPS – Persone, Programmazione e Sviluppo – through the Portale della Didattica - the Comunicazione inizio attività form (Service start communication).
When the researcher’s contract is about to expire, the University automatic information system will send a message to the Scientific Representative. The Representative can request the renewal or the conclusion of the fellowship (see the procedures here below).
Renewal
To request the renewal of a fellowship, which will be submitted to the first scheduled Executive Committee, the following documents must be sent to dauin.pers@polito.it:
- Note or letter from the Scientific Representative, digitally signed (no scan) addressed to the Executive Committee or to the Head of Department , to request the approval of the research activity carried on so far and to request the fellowship renewal. The note must also indicate the renewal period, the confirmation of the economic segment or the passage to the consecutive one and the funds on which the renewal cost will be allocated. (Please note that funds can only be external, as per University Policy.);
- Report from the research fellow on the activity carried on, digitally signed (no scan), using the form Relazione scientifica attività assegno di ricerca. She/He will have to attach the compulsory printing of the publications visualized on IRIS, referring to the fellowship period, as deliberated by the Executive Committee on 03.09.2013.

Ending
To notify a fellowship ending, which will be announced during the first scheduled Executive Committee, the following documents must be sent to dauin.pers@polito.it:
- Note or letter from the Scientific Representative, addressed to the Executive Committee or to the Head of Department, to request the approval of the research activity carried on and to communicate the conclusion of the fellowship. In case of a one-year non-renewable fellowship, a motivation for the conclusion is not required, whereas, in case of a renewable fellowship, a motivation is required (e.g.: the lack of funds or the conclusion of the research activities included in the fellowship period, etc). A multi-year research fellowship can be interrupted at any time for a serious breach from the research assistant;
- Report from the research fellow on the activity carried on, digitally signed (no scan), using the form Relazione scientifica attività assegno di ricerca (Scientific Report on the Research Fellowship activity) . He must attach, as deliberated by the Executive Committee on 03.09.2013 the compulsory printing of the publications visualized on IRIS, referring to the fellowship period.
Early dissolution
As provided for in the Regolamento per l’attribuzione di assegni per lo svolgimento di attività di ricerca – art. 8 c. 3 “the possible early dissolution must be communicated by the Research fellow with at least one month’s notice. The period of notice starts from day 1 or day 16 of each month.”.
In case of an early dissolution, the Research Fellow, according to the timing mentioned aboved, must:
- Fill in and digitally sign the form Risoluzione anticipata assegno di ricerca, send it to [2],for a formal check, then have it signed digitally (no scan) by his/her Scientific Representative;
- According to the new operating procedure, after obtaining the Head of Department’s signature (with the support of the General Secretariat, if needed), the form must be sent to Politecnico’s certified e-mail (politecnicoditorino@pec.polito.it) and in cc to PEPS.AssegniDiRicerca@polito.it and dauin.pers@polito.it.
